Dr. Rumen Stoyanov graduated in medicine from the Medical University of Pleven in 1992. The following year, he was appointed as a resident at the Oncology Surgery Clinic of the Dr. G. Stranski University Hospital in Pleven. He obtained his specialty in surgery in 1999 and in oncology in 2002. He obtained his specialty in Surgery in 1999 and in Oncology in 2002.

He has over 30 years of experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of breast diseases. He participated in the development of a national consensus for the comprehensive treatment of breast cancer and a local screening program for its early diagnosis.

Areas of professional and scientific interest: diagnostic imaging of the breast; oncoplastic, aesthetic, and reconstructive breast surgery.

He has completed qualification courses at the Clinic for Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery – Alexandrovska University Hospital – Sofia, Prof. Iv. Chernozemski University Hospital – Sofia, Military Medical Academy – Sofia, and the national oncology centers of Hungary and Croatia.

In 2017, he was awarded the "Doctor of the Year" prize by the Regional Council of the Bulgarian Medical Association – Pleven, and in 2019, he received the annual award of the "St. Ivan Rilski" Foundation in the category "Oncosurgery."

In December 2025, he joined the team at the St. Marina University Hospital in Pleven.
