Dr. Gyursen Ziyafetova Yakub is a specialist in medical oncology with professional experience in the diagnosis and treatment of oncological diseases.

She was born in Ruse, Bulgaria. She graduated with distinction from the “Baba Tonka” Mathematics High School in Ruse. In 2017, she obtained her medical degree from the Medical University “Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov” – Varna, graduating with excellent academic performance.

She completed her specialization in medical oncology at the Complex Oncology Center – Shumen. After successfully passing her state examination, since 2025 she has been part of the team of the Clinic of Medical Oncology at University Hospital “St. Marina” – Pleven, where she works as a specialist in medical oncology.

Dr. Yakub actively participates in national and international scientific forums, including events in Spain, Austria, and Belgium, presenting both oral presentations and posters. She is a sub-investigator in multiple clinical trials related to breast cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, and other oncological diseases.

She has authored publications in Bulgarian and international scientific journals in the fields of breast cancer, prostate cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and lung cancer.

Dr. Yakub is a member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and the Bulgarian Oncology Scientific Society (BOND).
