Prof. Dr. Tihomir Totev MD is a graduate of Medical University - Pleven, where he graduated in medicine in 1987. He acquired two specialties - "Obstetrics and Gynecology" in 1993 and "Oncology" in 2007. Assoc. Totev has completed numerous specializations - in colposcopy, ultrasound in obstetrics and gynaecology, operative gynaecological technique, urogynaecology, oncogynaecology, diagnostic and operative laparoscopy in gynaecology, robotic gynaecology and urology, diagnostic and office hysteroscopy and others.

In 2016, he obtained the degree of Doctor of Science for his defended dissertation on "Laparoscopic treatment of pelvic endometriosis". Dr. Tihomir Totev was an assistant professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a senior assistant at the Research Institute of Medical University - Pleven. Since 2021 he has been Associate Professor and since 2023 Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Faculty of Medicine of MU - Pleven. Assoc. Prof. Totev is a national consultant in the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

He is a member of the Bulgarian Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (BSOG), the Bulgarian Association of Oncogynaecology (BAOG) and the Bulgarian Association of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery (BAMIRS).

Areas of professional and scientific interests: diagnosis and treatment of gynaecological and oncogynaecological diseases, laparoscopic and robot-assisted gynaecological surgery.

He has numerous publications, a published monograph and participation in textbooks and manuals related to his professional field.
