Dr. Dancho Vasilev Gurdev is a specialist in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care with extensive professional experience in emergency medicine, resuscitation, and the management of critically ill patients. He is currently part of the HEMS-Bulgaria team and the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at UMHAT “Sveta Marina” – Pleven. Between 2022 and 2023, he also served as Manager of MBAL Velingrad.

His professional interests are focused on modern anesthesiology, intensive care, and regional anesthesia techniques. Dr. Gurdev has expertise in peripheral nerve blocks and regional anesthesia for thoracic, vascular, abdominal, urological, and gynecological surgery, as well as in the treatment of critically ill patients in intensive care settings. He also has experience in pediatric anesthesia, including the management of children with congenital malformations and genetic syndromes.

Dr. Gurdev graduated from Medical University – Plovdiv and holds a specialty in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, as well as an additional qualification in Health Management. He has completed numerous specialized courses and certifications in HEMS, Crew Resource Management (CRM), fiberoptic endotracheal intubation, and lung ultrasound diagnostics.

He actively participates in national medical congresses and scientific forums, with publications in the fields of thoracic surgery, abdominal surgery, and rheumatology. Dr. Gurdev is fluent in English, French, and Russian.
